Bronze Woman 2009

This limited edition bronze is a reproduction of the original monument Stockwell, South London.

The statue is based on a poem of the same name, the artist Aleix Barbat drew inspiration from a maquette made by the famous sculptor Ian Walters.

The Bronze Woman Monument will be the first public statue in England to celebrate the contribution of black women to British society.
